The Berlin Senate Department has made a SMILE study visit to the London Borough of Camden. Their opinion:

"We got an overview of Camden's Green Transport Strategy and Camden's Boulevard Project as well as of London's congestion charging scheme. It was very interesting to hear about how Camden combines environmental and transport policies and how Camden conveys its strategies to the public. It was also good to see that TfL is so successful by realising the congestion charge."

"I have learned a lot. It was instructive to discuss the problems caused by traffic and to hear and see some solutions that are implemented by the Borough of Camden and TfL. About 12 years after my last visit to London/Camden nowadays it is significantly cleaner in the streets, it has less traffic and the air quality is better than then. As well new for me was, that the congstion charge has led to a considerable increase of motorbikes."
